Guardian takes in depth look at world's largest coal mine

Wednesday, 12 November, 2014

As the Guardian raises the pulses of climate lovers and long-term thinkers with a splash headline: US and China strike deal on carbon cuts in push for global climate change pact — reality herniates elsewhere on the site.

Not just here, where the question “Is Barack Obama's climate change policy working?” is answered “Not in coal country” – but here, in a long form piece entitled The real story of US coal: inside the world's biggest coalmine.

For the tiny minority of our readership not intimately familiar with the interior of a major coal operation, it’s a fascinating piece, with insightful pictures, video, maps and links. There’s also - as you would imagine - discussion of the evolution of climate policy and market implications for coal and the mine in question, Wyoming’s North Antelope Rochelle.

Interesting stuff and well worth a read: http://www.theguardian.com/environment/2014/nov/10/-sp-the-real-story-of...
