VIDEO: Interview with Banlaw CEO about their infrastructure projects

Monday, 3 March, 2014

Our first video from Mines and Money has arrived! And we've begun with one of our favourite projects, done by Banlaw Africa. Banlaw had to refurbish 700km of road between Liberia and Cote d'Ivoire, in order to move their equipment, and in doing so provided two historically afflicted countries with a major infrastructure gain. In an article on Banlaw from last week, we wrote:

"The Banlaw work shows a direct correlation between what resource companies can do to benefit a region alongside community work and paying tax to governments. Infrastructure is the abiding issue for Africa and here we see a major road improvement programme completed, connecting several countries all done for no cost by the states."

Banlaw CEO Richard Levack told us about the project: be sure to watch him describe the Herculean task! Many thanks to Richard for agreeing to talk to us about his company.
